Azara García de los Salmones, known as “La Tormenta”, is one of the most important athletes in the recent history of Spanish trail running. A world, European and national champion, she has spent more than a decade competing at the highest level and winning some of the world’s most iconic races.

Leire Fernández

Leire Fernández Abete is a Basque trail runner and canicross athlete who began competing in the mountains at just 12 years old. A junior canicross world champion and senior Spanish trail champion, she combines talent and character with a deeply personal connection to the mountains and animals.

She won the national championship at Chandrexa Trail over 35 kilometres with 2,180 metres of elevation gain.

She also became European and Spanish junior champion alongside her dog Bolt, winning the titles at just 14 years old.

At only 16, she won the 44.8-kilometre race in the Picos de Europa and finished eighth overall.
